After working for 30 years as an infectious disease epidemiologist in the NHS and the PHLS (now the Health Protection Agency), Dick now pursues his research interests in childhood infections (the OXCIS programme), infection control in primary care, and infection in asplenic people.
He chairs the Board of Thames Valley Comprehensive Local Research Network and the Oxford Tropical Research Ethics Committee.
