Biography
Jenny Hislop is a sociologist with research interests in women’s health, ageing, the sociology of sleep, and qualitative methods. She holds an MSc in Social Research and a PhD from the University of Surrey. Jenny’s research at Surrey on the EU-funded Sleep in Ageing Women and the ESRC-funded Negotiating Sleep amongst Couples has been disseminated widely at national and international conferences as well as in academic journals and in the media.
Before joining the DIPEx Health Experiences Research Group as a Senior Researcher in October 2008, Jenny was a lecturer at Keele University where she directed the MA in Gerontology programme as well as co-ordinating and teaching on undergraduate sociology courses.
Jenny is currently interviewing women about their experiences of the menopause for the www.healthtalkonline.org website.
