Biography
Peter Gill joined the Department of Primary Care Health Sciences in 2009 as a DPhil Student. He is a Rhodes Scholar (Alberta & Magdalen 2009) from Canada and was awarded an Alberta Health Research Foundation for Medical Research (AHFMR) Health Research Studentship in 2009. He holds a Bachelor of Medical Sciences (BMSc) and is currently in the MD/PhD program at the University of Alberta. His DPhil focuses on developing evidence-based indicators to measure the quality of care provided for children in the UK general practice. In 2010, he was awarded a Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) Scientific Foundation Board Grant to generate professional consensus in the UK. His research methodology experience includes systematic reviews, observational studies, qualitative interviews and diagnostic horizon scans.
Peter is actively involved in medical education initiatives and co-created the paediatric medical education website PedsCases. Recently, he co-chaired the 2011 Global Scholar Symposium in Oxford and is the student representative to the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) General Practice Forum.
