We are closely collaborating with other University departments in the NIHR School of Primary Care Research on a number of studies on infectious diseases. We have been working with colleagues at the University of Southampton on the DESCARTE and PRISM studies looking at sore throats and antibiotic use.

The Department is now running a new study, 3C, with Southampton investigating predictors of complications in patients seeing their GP with a cough or chest infection. We are also collaborating with the University of Bristol’s forthcoming TARGET study looking at respiratory tract infections in children.
